Bio/Description


Mircea Trandafir is a Senior Researcher in the Research Unit of the ROCKWOOL Foundation, and a Research Fellow at IZA. Prior to that, he was an associate professor at the University of Southern Denmark. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from University of Maryland, College Park. 

His primary research interests are in applied microeconomics, especially at the intersection between labor and health economics. His recent work looks into the health and non-health returns to medical treatments, particularly early in life, and into the links between (mental) health and the labor market. His work has been published in journals such as AEJ: Applied Economics, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Health Economics, and Demography.
