Bio/Description


Krista Ruffini is an Assistant Professor at Georgetown University's McCourt School of Public Policy. Her research examines how income assistance and labor market policies affect disadvantaged populations. One area of this work studies the role of nutritional assistance programs – particularly school-based assistance -- in shaping family wellbeing. Another focus area examines how workplace policies affect employees, employers, and patients in the healthcare sector. Much of her current work explores the effects of expansions to the safety net during the pandemic. Professor Ruffini received her PhD in Public Policy and MA in Economics from UC-Berkeley; her MPA from the London School of Economics; and her BA from Boston University in Economics, International Relations, and Political Science.
