Judith M. Glassgold’s primary interests lie in mental health and health care delivery, particularly among socially marginalized and economically disadvantaged populations. Throughout her career she has combined advocacy, scholarship, clinical services and teaching. Her recent work at the American Psychological Association translated science into social policy to reduce health disparities. She also served in Congress as a Senior Health Policy Advisor and at the Congressional Research Service as a Specialist in Health. In a parallel line of work, she is a national expert in the psychology of sexual orientation and gender identity and has published articles on affirmative psychotherapy and contributed to landmark reports and legislation. Glassgold received an A.B. from Harvard University in Government and a Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) from Rutgers University.
