Jonathan Cohen is the Eugene Higgins Professor of Psychology. His current research focuses on the neurobiological mechanisms underlying cognitive control, and their disturbance in psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia and depression. This research includes both theoretical work and empirical work done in Cohen’s lab at Princeton University. Cohen is the founding director of both the Princeton Neuroscience Institute and the Center for the Study of Mind, Brain and Behavior at Princeton University. He holds an M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania as well as a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology from Carnegie Mellon University. Before coming to Princeton in 1998 he held joint appointments at Carnegie Mellon and the University of Pittsburgh.
